Savor a Summer in Amador

Amador County’s vintners, farmers and merchants have cooked up a summer’s worth of great wine, food and cultural events for visitors to the Sierra Foothills. From tasting's, picnics and barbecues to concerts, county fairs, and farmers’ markets, Amador’s leading wine and food purveyors are inviting everyone to savor a summer in Amador.

In July, enjoy the Saturday farmers’ market in Sutter Creek; concerts every Saturday at Story Winery in the Shenandoah Valley; and the Amador County Fair, with carnival rides, exhibits, rodeo, concerts and wine tasting from the 26th through the 29th.

In August, Sutter Creek continues its Saturday farmers’ market; Domaine de la Terre Rouge/Easton Wines hosts a seminar on high-elevation Syrah (8/4); Convergence Vineyards helps wine lovers chill out with ice cream and cool wines (8/11-12); Avio Vineyards has its “Roll Out the Barrel” Summer Release Party (8/18); Dobra Zemlja Winery throws its annual Pre-Release Party, with new wine releases, music, and other goodies (8/18); and the wineries of Dickson Road in Plymouth host their annual “Mediterranean Madness Sale” featuring great deals on wine, light hors d’oeuvres, and a chance to play bocce ball and petanque (8/25).
