Are
you interested in quality art? Concerned about the ability to decorate your
entire house with real artwork. Well there is a way to accomplish this task
and avoid making your next residence the poor house. Come visit Art D’
Cor!
Established in 2000, Art D’ Cor sells beautiful oil paintings, frames and mirrors at wholesale prices. These oil paintings are from international artists as well as selected local artists. Most of the paintings range in price from $25.00 to $300.00. Mike and Lisa Whytock owners of Art D’ Cor, formerly owned a large warehouse and sold exclusively to interior design and furniture trades. About two years ago, they opened their first retail outlet in Danville selling wholesale to the public. The response was spectacular and they have recently opened their second location in Livermore on First Street.
Mike says, “I realized a long time ago that most people love art, but most couldn’t or wouldn’t pay thousands of dollars for one painting. That is why we started selling oils from international artists. We keep the prices down, and the quality high. We have hundreds of 3’x4’ beautiful paintings for as little as $175.00.”
Custom
orders! They do that too. Customers bring their own photos such as family portraits,
pets, landscapes, wineries, etc. and Art D’ Cor turns them into beautiful
oils. As an example, Mike had a couple bring in a photo from a local winery
where they were married. The artists turned their photo into a beautiful 2’
x 3’ oil for $145.00. The frame cost was $89.00 (we represent the factory),
so the complete custom image was $234.00. Not bad, when you think about it you
can’t even get a nicely framed print for that price”.
Another fun thing they do is to paint anything you want on your painting. The personnel are all artists, so they constantly add personal touches to the paintings. For example, a couple purchased a 2’ x 3’ painting of wine bottles. The couple had two children and one on the way. On one of the bottles, Mike painted a beautiful vineyard scene with their name and the year they were married, and then each child had their own image for their personal label. One of the kids picked a yellow rose, one a pink flower, and their son is not born yet, but we figured he would like baseball, so Mike painted a bat and ball on his label. The whole cost, including the personal touches… $145.00!
In
addition, you will find the mirrors price the same as the big retailers, but
with a much larger selection. There are over two hundred styles to choose from
ranging in glass size from 8 x l0 inches to 4’ x 6’. All the glass
comes with a large 1.5-inch bevel. Art D’ Cor also permits their customers
to take the frame home without the mirror, see if it works. If it does, they
install the glass and deliver the mirror. There is no need to pay for anything
until you try it out first.
One local bay area company called upon Art D’ Cor to decorate their establishment with 150 paintings. The president allowed them to bring approximately 1,000 paintings to the offices so that his employees could select the images they liked. Oils create a much nicer environment and he told Mike that he gets a fantastic response from all who visit his business. An additional benefit occurs when a company lets the employee pick out the painting of their choice for their office or area. What is particularly important is that the paintings make the employees feel special and as they retire, the employees can keep their painting as a gift from the firm. To add additional pleasure to the experience, the president was very pleased that the paintings cost him less than he could purchase framed prints in the marketplace.
Art D’ Cor also offers art classes for kids;
currently they have around 50 students enrolled. The kids paint on canvas and
on occasion, displayed in the stores. Their company continually works with many
interior designers and has a few that will come to your home free of charge
and help pick out mirrors and paintings.
